JOB SUMMARY

Fluid Power Technicians are expected to fabricate, fit and install all hydraulic pneumatic systems associated with boat building. This includes, but is not limited to installing steering hydraulic system, mounting hydraulic pumps on engines, installing stabilizer, bow thruster, anchor windlass, capstan, crane and passerelle hydraulic systems, and installing compressed air systems used aboard yachts and any jobs as may be requested by the owners at the time of delivery.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Bend Tubing
  2. Develop proficiency in reading blueprints
  3. Perform basic layout work
  4. Chip/grind welds and cut/shape metals
  5. Deburr and polish metal using power tools and equipment
  6. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of dial/scale calipers and measuring equipment
  7. Install hydraulic steering piping
  8. Install hydraulic pumps on engines
  9. Install hydraulic system piping
  10. Fabricate any or all aluminum/stainless steel components
  11. Fit and install aluminum and/or stainless steel trim work
  12. Install compressed air piping

MORE EXPERIENCED APPLICANTS

  1. Perform extensive layout work
  2. Troubleshoot and repair any yacht related system
  3. Demonstrate consistency and proficiency in all trade related knowledge and experience
  4. Possess ability and willingness to successfully train employees while still accomplishing own work on schedule
  5. If skill set permits, employee may be asked to perform material analyst job functions.

EDUCATION

High school or technical school where print reading, basic measurement skills and tool use has been learned.
